Delivery Information

The Fish Leather Company is based in the United Kingdom and we dispatch all fish leather products and materials from the UK. After receiving an order we will always dispatch within 4 working days. We offer free UK delivery and only ask a small delivery fee of £3 on international deliveries. We use royal mail delivery services for UK as well as worldwide delivery. This means that your international delivery will arrive through the regular post of your country.

UK Delivery

Delivery times with the UK vary between 1 and 3 working days, as we always use first class delivery. On large orders the postage will be upgraded to either a guaranteed delivery or a signed for delivery.

European (EU) Delivery

Delivery times vary widely and we cannot make any promises about delivery times. If you need a fish leather for a specific date, make sure to order it far in front, such as a month before. The estimated delivery times within Europe of small parcels/envelopes is between 5 and 10 working days. Large parcels take longer than envelopes, so delivery times are also dependent on your specific order. Larger parcels will include tracking and need to be signed for. Tilapia leathers in envelope often arrive before this estimated delivery time.

Worldwide Delivery

Delivery times vary widely and we cannot make any promises about delivery times. If you need a fish leather for a specific date, make sure to order it far in front, such as 6 weeks. The estimated delivery time to non-EU countries is between 7 and 15 working days. However it can take longer as parcels can be held for a long time in customs. Be aware that when buying fish leather, you are buying an unusual product that custom services might not be familiar with. Customs can keep parcels for a long time, even when we pay for priority handling. However, small envelopes often arrive before the estimated delivery time. Large orders (more than 4 leathers) will be signed for deliveries and send with priority.

Custom Duties

If ordering a large quantity to be dispatched outside the EU custom duties, VAT and handling fees might have to be paid. The minimum allowances vary widely and we would recommend you to gather this information before placing large orders. We are not responsible for any of these costs, and you cannot reclaim them from us.
Within the EU you do not have to pay custom duties, as we already did this when it came from our manufacturers in Asia, America, and South America. It is also the responsibility of the buyer to check with regulations regarding fish leather. Certain countries might not allow the import of fish leather, or have limitations on this. I have also noticed that fish leather can be held for quite a while in customs, as they are often unfamiliar with the material and will need to do some research into it.

Packaging

We like to ensure that the leather arrives in the best state possible. Tilapia leathers are send in large cardboard envelopes and also arrive the quickest. Salmon, carp and perch leather is either send rolled in a small box or in a larger box to prevent creases.

Returns

If you are not happy with the leathers you received, you can return it to us and you will receive a refund through Paypal. However, we cannot cover the price of shipping and will deduct these from the refund. We provide a large amount of information about the leathers and the sizes to prevent any mistake purchases. Also be aware that the colours of the leathers can looks slightly different depending on your computer, tablet or mobile screen.
